Perhaps you have been blessed with other models of faith in your lifetime: a parent, a co-worker, a friend, or a relative who walked with God for decades. He or she could be a spiritual leader who practiced what he preached. Or maybe he or she could be the fellow who talked to God in prayer as if God were in the same room.
I have one and I am truly blessed for having her in my life. She is my best friend. Sometimes I tend to forget I am truly blessed. My best friend never ceases to remind me that I should give back all the glory to Him. She is always there not only because we are compatible in too many ways but she is there because she wants to show me the importance of some things in life. She is undeniably my model of faith.
Models of faith are in short supply today, just as they were in the days of the patriarchs. You can't get physically fit in a day, nor can you develop the pure faith overnight. But you can see your faith grow and deepen each day as you face life's challenges in the strength of the Lord. Of course, with your model of faith by your side, you'll never adrift.
